SPREADING THE GOSPEL 1 SONG AT A TIME AS GOD LEADS ME
Sherrell Mitchell is a Louisiana native, a friend, a father, a veteran, and a teacher — but above all he is a lover of God. Sherrell developed his love for music early in church and soon taught himself to play piano by ear. Since then, he’s grown musically through both private and classical training by great mentors such as Vivian Perryman, Darryl Hawk, Kay Classy and Phil Curry, among others.
“All things are possible with God,” writes 'Rell. “I’m truly grateful for the beautiful gift of music He's entrusted me with.”
Today, Sherrell works as Music Director at Immaculate Conception Church in Seattle and with other local ministries. These include the Matt Talbot Center, Cora Jackson’s “Judah Song Choir,” and 'Rell's own ensemble, the JLM Worshipers.
2016 saw Sherrell Mitchell release two albums, “The JLM Project” and “The Mass of New Vision.” His popular singles, “Salt of the Earth,” “Hear O’ Israel,” and “I Believe” appeared in 2019 to critical and fan acclaim, followed by February 2020's “No Turning Back.” His latest release at time of writing, “I Belong to You,” went live worldwide February 2021.
“I'm spreading the gospel through musical expression,” 'Rell says. “One song at a time — for an Audience of One — as the world listens on.”
